Stuff I'm interested in. Vintage TV. Old roads. Film photography. Plus occasionally some audio from my days on the radio a long time ago.
Down the Road Podcast, episode 16: Finding your groove in creative endeavors
You seem to like this podcast, but I don’t feel like I’ve dialed it in just right yet. I reflect on how I’ve dialed in other creative things I’ve done, like my blog.

Просмотров 112 месяца назад
In public places in the US, you have a Constitutionally protected right to make photographs. But is it always wise to exercise that right?

I’ve been doing a lot of walking with a camera over the last several months. It’s helped me cope with some stuff.
Down the Road Podcast, episode 13: Regular practice is key to creative growth
Просмотров 82 месяца назад
If you want to improve your skills in any creative endeavor, the best way is to keep practicing. I find that putting practice on a schedule, making it routine, is a power move. (www.flickr.com/photos/mobilene/53573802965/in/dateposted/)
Down the Road Podcast, episode 12: Why I recommend the Nikon N2000 as a first manual-focus Nikon SLR

I love a bargain, and the N2000 offers a great deal of bang for the buck. You can pick up bodies on eBay all the time for $50 or less, sometimes much less.

Down the Road Podcast, episode 9: Can documentary photography be art?
Просмотров 83 месяца назад
I am primarily a documentary photographer, recording and cataloging the world around me. Because I’ve built decent skills, my photographs are often pleasing, sometimes even beautiful and emotionally powerful. But in my opinion, that isn’t enough to make them art. Here are some documentary photographs I’ve made that I personally find to be evocative. (www.flickr.com/photos/mobilene/46612965125/i...
Down the Road Podcast, episode 8: When and why I prefer digital over film
Просмотров 114 месяца назад
You might be ride-or-die for film, and if you are, I salute you. Even though I favor film, there are times when I reach for one of my digital cameras. In this episode, I share when those times are, and why.
Down the Road Podcast, episode 7: The endless treadmill of promoting your work
Просмотров 44 месяца назад
If you’re a creative, it’s natural to want people to see your creative work. The trouble is, it takes a great deal of energy to promote your work, when you’d probably rather use that energy creating more work! I speak about what I do to promote my work, and talk about what you can realistically expect the return to be.
WBOW airchecks 1992
Просмотров 157Год назад
I was a part-time disk jockey on WBOW, an AM station in Terre Haute, IN, from 1990 to 1992. My regular shift was Sunday, 10 am to 2 pm, but I sometimes worked other weekend shifts, and once in a while filled in for one of the full-timers during the weekdays. This is the only aircheck I have from those years, in its entirety. This is two shows from the same weekend, a Saturday show 10-2 and then...

When TV had value...

I SWEAR IF SOMEONE SAYS "OUTFIT7 1913 LOGO" I WILL LOSE IT
I was a cameraman on Alex and Annie. It was shot as an insert for Kids are people too.. It was recorded at ABC studio 15, the same studio as Dick Clarks $20,000 pyramid.. We shot all the Alex and Annies on One Saturday afternoon
How awesome that you stopped by and shared some inside info! Thank you!
From Scooby doo where are you
Hey you may find this interesting. Just picked up some camera gear at an estate sale. The base camera is a Konica Autoreflex A. Also came with a Vivitar Zoom Thyristor 2500, a Sigma Zoom 28-80 lens, konica hexanon ar 52 (2 of them)
Those are decent SLRs. The Hexanon lenses were pretty good. I had a similar camera, the Autoreflex T3, for a while: blog.jimgrey.net/2014/01/27/konica-autoreflex-t3/
@@JimGrey Thanks for sharing that. Nice article and great pics!
There is a cue mark at the end at the top right corner

I watch this every so often to remember what it felt like to be in my grandparents’ house.
The first time I saw the Alex and Ani brand of bracelets, I thought of this.

Why is a puppet selling me cereal and big man leering at me? I feel dirty
What do you know about yourself that makes you feel that way?
